Dymystified for Beginers!

GOOD JOB GUYS! I first started my relationship with Director by downloading the trial version. I played around alittle with the program, before long I realized that I needed to get some kind of training if I intended to use this software. Although I have not finished this book yet, in a very short time I was able to make sharp looking designs and presentations. I learned how and why, or when and when not to for that matter, to import movies and custom graphics along with how to design using the tools from within Director . This book has worked wonders for me! I highly recomend it to any beginers. What would have taken me months to learn on my own, I learned in minutes with this book.

A must-have book for serious Director users!

Director 7 Demystified is the best book so far on Director 7. The lingo "encyclopedia" in itself makes the book worthwhile - it's a better reference for lingo than most available. The book generally clarified a lot of topics for me that remained murky after reading several other books. The programming is much more concise and elegant than that in some of the other references. There are topics and details dealt with here that I simply have not seen in other books. If you are serious about multimedia, get this book!

If you're a beginner, this is the only book for you!

I had never even seen Director before I bought this book and had no clue what Director could do. Upon reading the first 3 chapters, I was already making a actual animated movie! This is a hands-on, clearly written, easy to understand book that I would absolutely recommend to anyone trying to learn Director. Word to the wise: If you have the most recent version of Director (6.0/6.5), you may want to get Director 6 Demystified instead.

Excellent! Wow! The best!

This book is by far the best computer book I have owned *and* read. I am a multimedia student, and I really don't have much time to muck around a thick tome, looking for how to achieve a particular effect through lingo. This book is easy reading, and easy referencing. The author really did a good job in making a potentially boring and definitely techy topic very exciting. I recommended this book to all of my classmates. Thanks for writing this book!

A Great Book for Multimedia Beginners

Jason Roberts makes clear his intentions from the beginning. This is a book to explain Macromedia Director 5 and get you started on projects. This book is not the panecea to solve or learn everything about Macromedia Director. You need several books to do that. But what Director Demystified does is give you "real world" examples and a great sample CD to use as your reference. The tutorials are easy to follow and a great starting block for your own Director projects. The Lingo lessons are good beginners, but to do advanced Lingo, you will need a supplemental book and more detailed information. Mr. Roberts is also very good at explaining how to plan for your multimedia project. I followed the books tips and my first project was started in no time. Even though there are some minor scripting flaws within the book, it is still well worth the money to invest in. The CD alone will give you your money's worth.
