When I thought I couldn't love the Nightshade team more, Ronie Kendig ups the stakes and brings out Colton - and he's totally stolen my heart. He's been such a rock steady foundation for the team with his methodical purpose, wisdom, patience, honesty, faith, and loyalty. And yet he's plagued by PTSD, debilitating flashbacks, and his regret and fear of failing those he loves. My heart really connected with him as he struggled to hold onto his faith in the midst of earth-shattering events in his life, and, man, he went through a ton of those in the book. And there's Piper. She single-handedly brought Colton and the Nightshade team into the unknown and unexpected - where international intrigue, betrayal, intense action and battle threaten to consume them. And Azzan is introduced here, which is quite fun. The lesson of letting God lead and have control is profound throughout the book and relatable. I can't wait to read Canyon's story next!
