Digging for Roots, Works by Women of the North Olympic Peninsula

As the co-editor of this unique anthology, I thought it long overdue to add my own review. I hope others will be prompted to do so as well. This anthology which is not quite a quarter-century old was a labor of love from start to finish. A potlatch in the ancient manner, a giving-back to the community of women in particular of the North Olympic Peninsula whose creativity was overflowing into photos, sketches, poems, memoirs, short stories, and whose support was essential in making this book possible. As a part of the Empty Bowl collective, we were responsible for raising money to publish these works. The larger community responded with donations of all kinds, including a cord of wood for a raffle, offered by a generous and energetic wood cutter. It was an honor to be a part of this almost two-year effort to publish this anthology. There are voices here that need still to be read and heard. I recommend purchase!
