Different Roads by Kathy Troccoli

Different Roads was certainly the most unusual, yet loving, approach to sharing friends' thoughts with the world. Most of the entries in this little jewel were written by Kathy's closest friends and family. These authors were just ordinary women who were given the opportunity to voice their love for Jesus. It showed just how much Troccoli values her friends' and family's thoughts. I especially enjoyed Jennifer Esposito's "God's Message To Me". Her account of how important even the most mundane chore can be worthwhile was beautiful. Her entry read like a heart-felt poem. Her openness to receiving God's answers to her questions could be shared and understood by this reviewer. All the little essays in this book flowed and had gentle words of wisdom to offer. Even though the majority of this sweet, little book was wtritten by Kathy's friends and family, Troccoli did write the Forward and two short notes. These were seen more as brief intermissions and introductions to her friends' essays. I am not down playing Troccoli's contributions to this coffee table book. No,just informing future readers that if they're expecting a full compilation by Kathy, then they best check out her first book. Her choice notes were nuggets of her relationship with Christ. On the inside back cover of Kathy's book was a CD of her song "Different Roads". That by itself was worth the price of the book. It was a cut taken from her award winning album "Corner Of Eden". The song truly enhanced this little jewel-in-the-rough of a book. Don't let the size or briefness of this little book sway you away from adding it to your library, because by far it is one of the most original, unselfish, and honest publications I have ever read. The old cliche that " good things come in small packages " still rings true for this little book, "Different Roads".

An Inspirational Journey

Kathy Troccoli beautifully presents the courageous stories of people who have experienced a variety of obstacles. You are drawn in by the stories because they give hope,inspiration and courage during dark and lonely times. Kathy shows, as do the the storytellers, how through these struggles they become stronger, find their purpose in life and gain a different perspective on life. I have already shared it with two friends. Both of them love it! It is a great book and it reminds us that we all have a purpose, though we may not understand it or see it at the time, we are not alone and that we have the strength to get through difficult times. The title ("Different Roads") that Kathy chose is true to the nature and theme of this book. The book illustrates the different stories of the people but how all of us are on a road of life and in some way or another we can understand the differences in each story as we may have experienced some part of their struggle in our own lives. This is a great book and makes a wonderful gift. I will continue to share it with many others. The book also has a surprising ending for the reader and is true to Kathy Troccoli-a beautiful, thoughtful and giving person.

If this book doesn't hit your heart, nothing will...

This is by far one fo the best books I've ever read. I picked it up "by accident" a couple days ago and have been devotionally reading two or three "stories" each day while I listen to the CD playing quietly in the background. It's amazing. The song is beautiful - both lyrics and music. It's an awesome set and makes a wonderful gift for any and all women in your life - including yourself! Proof of God's love and His involvement in our lives is all over this book and CD. Enjoy it over and over.
