I first learned about eating a one meal a day way of eating about 20 years ago when I worked at the hospital. The HR Director where I worked lost over 30 lbs and stated that she lost the weight by eating one or two meals a day, drinking coffee with cream, tea, or a diet soda in between. She stated she would eat one or two meals on the weekends and during the week eat one meal a day. I remember her stating that she was "not one for cottage cheese and crackers and that she needed a hearty meal". I followed this way of eating and lost weight and was the lowest weight I had ever been. I have decided to return to this way of eating and purchased Dr. Bell's book, especially because he is a medical professional and is able to back it up with science. This way of eating is not for everyone and it can be challenging to get used to. The hardest part is to replace the time you would normally take to eat with non-eating activities. If you can keep busy during those times and not sucumb to boredom, I believe you will master the program of intermittent fasting.
