Excellent purhase!

If you have a toddler in your home, and you're getting ready for the challenge of potty training, this book is definitely a top choice. The Best Behavior Series is just superlative. I have purchased several of the books -- two copies of each for the toddlers in our family. These two little girls have profited greatly from having these books read to them, and they love to look at the pages on their own. It doesn't take long before they memorize every word. That makes it all the easier to gently remind them of the lesson at hand. Diapers Are Not Forever is most definitely worth the price, and your child will adore it.

Good behavior through reading fun

We have the suite of books and they are the most natural way to teach our active 2 year old appropriate behavior. He truly enjoys stories and it is a reference point for us to remind him of correct behavior if he doesn't remember. Love 'em all.

Great for potty training

I am in the midst of potty training my 2.5 year old. This book does a good job reinforcing that diapers are not forever. Colorful illustrations, toddler friendly language. Great book.

One of the Best of the Bunch

This was a GREAT book, and the first one we used. We actually got several from the library, including the "My Big Boy Potty" book (see my review on that for more info). The combination of "Diapers Are Not Forever" and "My Big Boy Potty" was the best combination for us. While "Diapers" does not spend time on specific anatomy, it addresses the difference between boys and girls (we have a boy). And it also is clear about what they are doing in simple, easy language. "Girls sit down to pee and poop. Then they wipe and flush. Boys do the same, and also can pee standing up" - or something to that effect. Our son could, and often did, recite the whole book verbatim. This is part of a great series of books targeting specific issues with kids, along with great pictures. The end of the book had potty training pointers, which I do remember reading. But I referred to the potty training pointers more often at the back of "My Big Boy Potty." Not quite sure why, except perhaps because this was the first book we started with, and once our son had memorized it, he moved on to requesting "My Big Boy Potty." The good thing about that combination of 2 books is "Diapers" covers the whole thing in a short, but easy to understand way, at a higher level with a positive tone. Then "My Big Boy Potty" spends more time on the individual steps focusing on an individual boy with whom the child can identify and learn the specific steps for getting to pee and poop.

Good for toddlers

My son loves this book. He's not potty trained, but he still enjoys the words and the pictures.
