When Harry Met Sally...

Courtney Hudson is a young widow and successful author living in Lake Barri, Colorado. Finally agreeing to venture out at the behest of her cousin, Courtney meets a nice detective, Lloyd Vance. The sexual chemistry is explosive and one thing leads to another. However, when tragedy strikes, Courtney begins to have second thoughts about her relationship with Lloyd. In an attempt to help bring closure to some issues so that they can move on with their lives, Lloyd relies on his skills as a detective. As the pieces of the puzzle fit together, will Courtney be able to deal with the past and consider a future with Lloyd? Or will it be too unbearable to consider? "Destined to Meet" by Devon Vaughn Archer is a good, short romance novel with little conflict and contains some intense sexcapades. While I enjoyed "Destined to Meet," I would have preferred just a little more drama. Enjoyable read and I would read other books from this author in the future. Reviewed by: Tekisha 3.5 stars

Destined 4 Love

This is a great love story. I really enjoyed Courtney and Lloyd love affair.. I felt myself cheering for their love the entire time. The love scenes were so tastefully done yet still HOT. Lloyd was an alpha male without being overbearing; which I love. I also enjoyed the secondary characters they did not overpower the story. I would certainly read this book again.

Destined to Meet!

This story with Courtney, Lloyd and her cousin Pilar is a great read. Devon writes another hot love story and add a little drama to the mix and you have a great storyline.

fascinating contemporary romance

Three years ago Joseph Hudson died in an accident; he left behind a grieving widow Courtney, whose social life has been dormant ever since. Her cousin Pilar persuades her to meet her at the hottest club in Lake Barri, Colorado, The Train Stop. However, Pilar failed to show or answer her cellphone leaving Courtney to fend for herself. Born and raised in Anchorage Police Detective Lloyd Vance moved to Lake Barri. The person he is to meet at The Train Stop failed to show up; however, when he sees Courtney he no longer cares. They talk as each is attracted, but their first encounter is interrupted when he is called on duty as her cousin is a hit-and-run victim. As they fall in love, he refuses to discuss with her either the case or his relationship with Pilar before he met Courtney. This is a fascinating contemporary romance in which the lead male's reluctance to discuss his relationship with this beloved's cousin puts their future in jeopardy. The story line is driven by Courtney and Lloyd who each has ghosts they bring into their relationship; she feels guilt re Joseph and he never recovered from his dad walking out on his mom and him. Although one subplot "heals" long festering wounds too easily, fans will appreciate the romance between the Alaskan and the Lower Forty-eight widow. Harriet Klausner

Destined to Meet

This is the second book I have read by this author. Destined to Meet is a great book from the beginning of the first page to the very end. Courtney Hudson is a young widow who writes children books, and never in a millions year Courtney would you expect to see Courtney in a bar, but Courtney had agree to meet her cousin Pilar there but Pilar never did show up. On the other side of the room Lloyd was there to meet his friend from there but Steve never did show it either. Lloyd has just move for Alaska to Lake Barri he works for the police department. Lloyd notice Courtney across the room sitting by herself and decided that she is one fine woman. Lloyd make his way across the room to where Courtney is and they start a conversation and from then the SPARKS fly, and I do mean FLY. There is instance attraction and they both feel and act on those feeling. There one night of passion is short live with Lloyd get call away. Neither on thought after there night together will be just a one night stand. Lloyd & Courtney embark on a relationship that seen to be doom from the beginning the call that Lloyd get is to investigate a hit and run accident and the victim is Pilar. Lloyd knew this person because when he first got to town her meet her and they went on a couple of dates they knew they wasn't right for each other. As Lloyd is at the scene of he crime Courtney get a phone call from the hospital to inform her that her cousin has been in accident. Courtney is on her way to the hospital and so is Lloyd to find out the victim is doing and hopeful to get to talk with her. Once Lloyd get there and is at the nurses station trying to find out some information he notice Courtney is there as well and goes to talk to her to find out if everything is okay. Lloyd finds out that Pilar is Courtney cousin and Courtney wants to know how Lloyd knew Pilar he tells her that when he first got to town he meet her and they went out a couple of dates. Courtney is upset since her and Lloyd had just has the sex of there life. The doctor comes out and give Courtney news on Pilar.
