Social Worker Jana Lewis is outraged when she finds out the community center where she volunteers, and the surrounding park is being redeveloped to cater to the upper class. A Fare to Remember, an event-planning business that Jana co-owns with her best-friend Twyla, is chosen to plan the ribbon cutting ceremony to announce Lakeview Park's gentrification. When the citizens of this small community rally together to save their neighborhood they enlist Jana as their spokesperson. When Reese McDonald, the gorgeous young urban architect chosen to design the 40-acres of Lakeview property, meets feisty little Jana he doesn't know what to do. And, finding himself attracted to her is not making things any easier. Torn between his feelings for Jana, the citizens of the Lakeview community and his overbearing boss, will Reese's design plan make or break him? Marcia King-Gamble has crafted a wonderfully well-written novel depicting how neighborhoods are torn apart and their citizens misplaced to make way for more upscale communities. While in the midst of all the turmoil an awe-inspiring romance takes place. While reading DESIGNED FOR YOU, I found myself cheering on the citizens of this small community for standing up and making their voices heard.
Romance and Reality can co-exist

I found that "Designed For You" was a rare blend of romance mixed with the very real problems of this country's downtrodden. The book makes a social statement without being dark and morbid or going "preacher" on us. The allegory that the beautiful Lakeview Park makes for all people, regardless of wealth, coincides nicely with the yearning we all feel for finding that special someone who will enhance our lives. Doesn't everyone deserve that? "Designed For You" is light, easy reading that will still make the reader think. Cynthia Breeding, author of "Camelot's Destiny", due out August, 2006
