An essential reference that clarifies the role of drawing in the design process. A text that has been tested in architectural studio courses over twenty-five years and two editions, Design Drawing... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Lockard's book is still the best in its field; maybe it's the only one of its kind. If you intend to draw anything for almost any reason, you owe it yourself to give this a good look. It is about design drawing, which is a strange species of drawing, but it's the only place I know of where you can get this depth of insight into the actual process -- nothing else comes close. Which is surprising, because it's crucial to so many endeavors, but there you go. Fine artists will also gain a lot of insight into the design process, which is generally not well understood or even discussed, and it doesn't just apply to the design disciplines, it applies to almost everything. Anyway, it's a great piece of work. Don't just look at the pictures! The writing is excellent and very provocative.
