When their paths cross in a New Orleans hospital, doctors Monica Gardner and Eli Holmes must put their separate and troubled pasts behind them in order to build a future together. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I honestly loved everything about this book: the story line, the secondary story line, the location, the characters, & the writing itself is a fresh, unique style that I quickly became addicted to. I'm a picky reader, especially when it comes to romances, and this one far exceeded my expectations. Ms. Rochon has become my new favorite romance author and I hope she writes many more books.
Excellent

Excellent book for first time author Farrah Rochon. This book shows that you can open your heart to love and be loved after being burned in a relationship. This book also showed the strong ties of family and friends. Once again excellent book; can't wait for Alex or Toby's story. Keep up the good work Ms. Rochon!!!!!
vivid description practicing medicine in post Katrina New Orleans
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
Emergency room Dr. Monica Gardner was already considering a change following the news broadcasts of what Katrina did to the Gulf, but Patrick Dangerfield and his lies made it easier for her to leave depression behind in St. Louis and start anew start in New Orleans at Methodist Memorial. Her first day on the job starts with a fender bender and then a C-section emergency that has "Super-Doc" Eli Holmes demanding to know who she is and to get out that she was fired. A new emergency saves Eli from her wrath. Administrator Dr. Slessinger gets Monica to join their charity board; of which Eli is a member too. They reach a truce and soon make a deal to pretend they are seeing one another in order to keep his family from setting him up on dates he does not want and to keep the male vultures from surrounding her with courtships she does not want. As they work together and spend some time away from the hospital together, they fall in love; however his relationships last a month and she still feels distrust towards males thanks to Dangerfield. DELIVER ME is enhanced by the vivid description practicing medicine in post Katrina New Orleans; thus the delightful romance takes a back seat to the action of the emergency room. The lead couple is a fine matching of dedicated physicians wary of love while the romance of a secondary couple adds depth to a loaded story line. Elementary my dear readers, as Farrah Rochon captures the city inside her fabulous contemporary medical romance with hopefully more Holmesian sibling tales to follow. Harriet Klausner
Wonderful Book with a Great Storyline

I am a huge romance fan but am very choosy about the authors that I read because I'm not a big fan of the more er, 'graphic' novels and prefer a great storyline any day. Deliver Me, by Farrah Rochon is exactly the kind of book I look for: Witty, fun and interesting with multiple characters to relate to (rather than just the hero and heroine). Deliver Me kept me up way past my 'bed time' (as someone who gets up at 5am daily this is a true measure of a good book for me). The more sexual scenes were also tastefully written so I wasn't blushing every 10 pages. I give this book an A+ and I can't wait for the next one!
Exciting debut by a new romance writer

Dr. Monica Gardner leaves her cheating fiance and never-satisfied parents behind in St. Louis to take a job at a hospital in post-Katrina New Orleans. Dr. Eli Holmes, known as "Super Doc" at the same hospital, is not so super outside its doors--his policy is to dump every girlfriend after four weeks and to never date doctors. The two get off to a rocky start, but must find a way to work together to save a crucial hospital program that provides prenatal care for women who can't afford it. Can Monica learn to trust, and can Eli break his rules for the right woman? "Deliver Me" delivers a satisfying, uncontrived love story with many laugh-out-loud moments. In addition to the two likeable main characters, the author treats us to many appealing side characters: Eli's two boisterous brothers, his matchmaking mother, Monica's fun-loving and loyal best friend, and a couple (Eli's patients) whose marriage may fail because of the wife's secret. The beautiful recovering city of New Orleans is almost a character in itself. Don't miss this debut novel by Farrah Rochon! NOTE: The cover may be gorgeous, but its dark, mysterious, and even dangerous feel in no way conveys the mood of the book. This is a happy book about two good and dedicated doctors who put all their efforts into their careers and need to learn to find satisfaction in their personal lives as well.
