I certainly agree with the rest of the readers' comments and it's definitely a keeper. I wish Ms. Stevens have sequels on the rest of the brothers. I read her book about 5 years ago and every now and then will try to look out for her books.
Loved this book

I read this book when it was first published about 9 years ago. What happened to the rest of the brothers? It was such a good story, similiar to Whitney My Love. It would be nice for Ms. Stevens to continue with the rest.
I loved it and am waiting for the sequels.

I have read this book over 3 times I still enjoy it. My only regret is that Ms. Stevens has not written anything since. I believe that each of the brothers deserve their own story.
Uplifting and Moving to the point of realisim

The point of hope for her to write about the brothers has past for me which really sux. Now the presure needs to be put on the distributors for all of her books to be put in reprint. They have been out for some time and the way to contact S,Stevens i would really like to know. Defiant Angel was the best of that time and i hope that stevens is okay and still contemplates a revival of her most apprieciated work.

I purchased this book in the early 90's and have read and re-read it over and over. Each time I read Defiant Angel, I wonder why Ms. Stevens never followed up with the sequels she set up for other Barencourte brothers: Brent, Austin, Tristan and Rory. This is Clinton Barencourte's story and was truly wonderful. He is the first born son and is Duke of Wentworth and Duke of Chablisienne. Clinton spots Tiffany Courtland when she is 14 and is entranced. He spots her again when she is 16 and then keeps track of her for two more years. When she is eighteen, Clinton decides she is who he wants as his Duchess and systematically sets out to accomplish that: pensions off his present mistress, buys up all the markers on her betrothed, buys her betrothal contract and has her betrothed to him. Clinton knows he will love Tiffany and sets about to ensure that she will love him as well. The story spanned time well, was very well plotted, had wonderfully real and well developed characters and, best of all was Ms. Stevens' portrayal of the intimant relationship between Clinton and Tiffany. She didn't tease the reader; she flat out told it and she didn't stop after their first few encounters. The reader gets to watch their relationship grow and develop and turn steamier and steamier. The puzzle for me is why this was Ms. Stevens' only one. She set the stage beautifully for the telling of: Austin, the second son who I can't recall right now; Brent, the banker third son who handled the family financial business; Tristan, the "pirate" fourth son who handled the family shipping interests; and Rory, the fifth son who was in America developing a base for the family empire in the colonies and islands. I just can't say enough about Defiant Angel!
