a true fantasy classic

Rare find!

First let me say, do NOT judge this book by its cover. This is the story of Nuela, an orphan who has dedicated her life to raising her younger sister. When her sister is sent upon her kalinerre (a coming of age rite), Nuela follows shortly thereafter, discovering that her world is vastly different from what she thought. The sea beckons, and Nuela reluctantly is pulled into its magical grasp. I have had this book for years and read it regularly. My only regret??? That there is no sequel!
