Jewelry Crafting book

I love this book! It is in great condition and has lots of good pics... very important for recreating the knots. Beautiful examples and ideas for inspiration.

Pictured instructions are helpful

I came across this book in my local library and used it to decide to buy a copy. It has excellent pictured directions for tied knots. The finished jewelry using the knots is lovely.

nice book

This book is a great book for those starting to use knots in their jewelry work. The instructions are clear and the photos are great. I got lots of good ideas for using knots in my work.

Korean knotting, gorgeous but confusing

At last a book on Korean knotting. I'd seen some gorgeous photos of this unique style of knotting in cultural books and in tourist oriented products, and although I figured most of it was contained in Chinese knotting, still I spotted a different approach. Finally this book reveals some of the most gorgeous knotting I've ever seen and beautiful projects that you want to make immediately. The problem is the author explains how to tie them "in hand", not on a board or pillow and the explanations, even in excellent photographs are difficult if not impossible to follow. "The spectacle knot" for example is used for a particularly fabulous necklace but the explanation is incomprehensible to me, an experienced knotter. I recommend the book as the missing text on Korean knotting but you may need to look up "the spectacle knot" as the plafond knot in "Chinese Knots for Beaded Jewelry" by Millinot or one of Lydia Chen's Chinese knotting books, for example. Hopefully more books on Korean style will follow, perhaps with a historical emphasis and diagrams.

exquisite projects

A treat for your eyes even if your ability in knotting falls short in degrees of difficulty for the projects. The use of two colors of braids to show routing in instructions is helpful. Even a tyro can gain ideas to adapt to ability level.
