In 1968 the writer and designer of this book was ten years old living in a safe suburb of Milwaukee, WI. At that time there were Civil Rights protests, the Vietnam war and protests, and the Hong Kong Flu. Death was part of every day life. Flash forward to 2020, Deborah is in her 60's, people expected to live to 100 or longer, death didn't seem to be everywhere. Then came the Pandemic. In this book Deborah shares her thoughts during what is likely the start of this story and her art that was influenced by it. To help her cope with stress and fear she also created happy virus molecules she would love to see spread. She shares all of this with the world for people living thru it and for future generations hopefully to come.
