Looking forward to the next installment!

Death Threads, the second installment in the Southern Sewing Circle mystery series, brings the charm of the secondary characters together with a main character who's still finding her way home. I loved the way that Tori sleuths with her new friends even when her adventures lead her outside the comfort zone for this curious librarian. Having backup, even if it's ladies from the sewing circle, gives this character more freedom to investigate without interference from the local sheriff. I enjoyed the mystery but I am growing to love the quirky characters. Looking forward to the third installment, Pinned For Murder in October.

Waiting Impatiently for #3

Pretty darn good. You probably want more than my opinion though, huh? Well, Tori is back and so are her friends and neighbors. Sometimes Sweet Briar is like sweet tea. On the surface almost too sweet and charming... to the point of being almost sicksweet; but that is the south for you. However, everyone keeps coming back for more sweet tea don't they? There are pitchers in both our fridges... Actually, that works pretty well here, because really what town with a history doesn't have some sick, unflattering, scandalous or even just silly but embarrassing secret or not so secret history? Bad feelings do lead to foul behavior and play in real life too, so why not in a story? Pride can hold people back, especially in a town like Sweet Briar with personalities that may remind you of your friends or neighbors in unexpected ways. The sewing circle helps(okay sometimes help is a hindrance) Tori to UNRAVEL (haha) this mystery... twists galore up to the very end! If you like mysteries, crafting, the south(or even don't like it), characters, or have your own lady's circle; you'll enjoy this book.

A charming small town cozy that is fun, fast-paced and truly a delight to read!

Elizabeth Lynn Casey continues her stories of the lives and activities of the good folks of Sweet Briar, South Carolina in her latest Southern Sewing Circle Mystery, DEATH THREADS. Casey deftly crafts a thrilling mystery along with a charming story of friendship and small town life to create a fun, fast-paced novel that will keep cozy mystery lovers thoroughly entertained. Casey's characters are unique and endearing - the shy but handsome schoolteacher Milo who is sweet on Tori, the feisty Leona Elkin, Tori's self appointed Southern manners and charm teacher, Leona's loveable sister Margaret Louise, and the sassy, bright Tori Sinclair herself - all folks you would want to meet and become close friends with. Casey also includes helpful sewing tips and a pattern for a cute fabric gift bag project that is mentioned throughout the story. Look for future edition of the Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries from Elizabeth Lynn Casey. You'll be glad you did.

Book 2 is Number 1 in my book.

DEATH THREADS picks up six months after the close of SEW DEADLY and the reader once again becomes immersed in the life of Northern transplant, Tori Sinclair. Relationships started in the first book deepen and the girls from the Sewing Circle are going strong. The introduction of Ella May, the quirky character that every small town has is fabulous. Who doesn't like a quirky character? Sweet potato pies, a local author and a reluctant stitcher figure prominently in this tale by Elizabeth Lynn Casey. This second who-done-it in her SOUTHERN SEWING CIRCLE SERIES keeps the reader guessing until the last few pages. I know I was as clueless as the local sheriff. I couldn't put this down once I started. I even missed a planned event in order to finish. I can't wait for the October release of book three in the series.

A Great Read

When local author, Colby Calhoun, writes a disparaging article about the town's history, the people shun him and his family and when he disappears, Tori opts to investigate. What I love about this mystery is every time I think it could be one person; the author spins it so that another is to the forefront and that is what I like in a mystery. The twists and turns had me turning the pages until I came to the same conclusion as Tori. I also love the banter between Tori and the sewing circle friends. This was a great read and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
