What a ride!

I have read all of the Psychic Eye Mysteries, and this is by far the best of the group (don't get me wrong as all the others are also quite good). Ms. Laurie has managed to intertwine multiple sub plots into one great read in this latest installment. We see a lot more of her sister "Cat" in a new light, and her new business partner, Candace. Throw in a missing boyfriend, kidnappings, Candace's amazing P.I. abilities, car chases, Las Vegas, and non stop running right up until the end. The repartee between Cat, Abby, Candace and others is just plain funny. I think Ms. Laurie has put together a well rounded mystery book w/a touch of the paranormal. Thank you!

Best book in the series (so far)

Psychic Abby Cooper is just starting to build up her business again when her boyfriend, FBI agent Dutch Rivers, asks her to go to Las Vegas with him. His cousin Chase has been kidnapped after a bloody shoot out and Dutch is desperate to find him without involving the FBI. Dutch has his reasons for not involving the FBI - some of which Abby is aware of and some she knows nothing about. On top of everything else, Abby is worried when Dutch is struck by a mysterious illness. Soon Abby is in over her head and will need all the help she can get from her psychic powers and friends in order to help Dutch at all. "Death Perception" is the fast paced action packed sixth book in Victoria Laurie's Psychic Eye mystery series and it is my favorite book in the series so far. Setting the novel in Las Vegas is a good idea and Laurie does an excellent job of portraying the weirdness that goes on there. Abby really needs her psychic abilities in this book and Laurie uses them well and shows that even having psychic powers doesn't mean you know everything. Abby's crew keeps giving her cryptic clues and Laurie does a wonderful job with these clues, especially at the end when everything is explained. One of the things that make this series work so well are the characters and in this book, Abby's friend Candice really stands out. I love her as a character and it is nice to learn more about her in this book (and it looks like there's a lot more to learn in future books). There is a lot of adventure in this book and while some of it is over the top and some events are a bit too coincidental, it all fits right in with the Las Vegas theme of the book. "Death Perception" is another great paranormal mystery by Victoria Laurie.

the best one by far

This was the best Physic Eye one so far. The scenes in Las Vegas and the zany problems that happen are amusing and fun. I love Abby's sister Cat and she meets up with some new friends along the way. This story was well written and entertaining. Abby seems to have "grown" as a character and does not have some of the petty personality quirks she had in the past. I loved the Prince/Elvis/costume scenes. Very amusing. I have just one question What happened to Dutch's cat??

Abby and Co. take Vegas!

Love, love, love Victoria Laurie books! This one does not disappoint, if anything, I am amazed at how she is developing the characters and the plots more and more with each book. This adventure, right on the heels of "Crime Seen" moves the action from Michigan to Vegas (and if ya notice my screen name, ya know I'm a happy girl!) And lots of action there is. Dutch's cousin Chase is kidnapped in Vegas, so he takes Abby along for help. The story unfolds, tying in the side plot in "Crime Seen" regarding Dutch's boss, Agent Robillard, who was involved in a covered-up murder that Dutch had been working to expose. The real fun is that Candice, Abby's P.I. friend, and her sister Cat come out to help Abby when things get sticky, and together these three dodge the bad guys, and get the crime solved. Ms. Laurie deftly weaves her characters and story together in wild ride, that I didn't want to see end! As always, looking forward to the next!

Best One So Far

Sometimes being a professional psychic is hard work so the idea of going to Las Vegas with Dutch sounds like a good idea, that is until she realizes that it's because Chase, Dutch's cousin, has been kidnapped and he really needs Abby's help in finding him. As they rush to find Chase, Abby is confronted with things that she didn't know about Dutch, things that might change their relationship forever, that is if she can find Dutch, who has now also missing, and get to the bottom of all the half truths that the FBI is saying. This book has you back and forth wondering what the truth is and why Abby wasn't aware of what was going on. Is everyone who they seem to be or are there lies upon lies. Finally the characters of Cat and Candice play dominate roles in this book and it's about time. Two great women, who have you laughing and wondering when they will get a series of their own. I highly recommend this series of mad cap adventure.
