Light Bed & Breakfast Cozy

In the 3rd book in the Iris House Mystery series, we find that Tess Darcy, owner of an upscale Bed & Breakfast in Victoria Springs, Missouri is hard at work with a new project. Normally busy with her own business venture, Tess has focused her energy for the week at the annual quilt show and sale benefiting the Victoria Springs Quilter's Guild. Tess had inherited her beautiful old house from Aunt Iris, and has used every bit of her monetary inheritance and life savings to transform the old mansion into a lovely garden inn. Even though the main participants in the show and sale are staying at her inn, Tess focuses much of her energy on the quilt show and her friend, Mary, who is in charge of the raffle ticket sales. Several mishaps occur to Mary, and Tess begins to be suspicious that someone is out to hurt her. When Mary's good friend is found murdered, Tess jumps to the conclusion that the killer mistook the victim for Mary during the blackout that occurred during the murder. Tess helps the police with their bumbling investigation, much to their chagrin, and must work quickly to solve the case before the quilt show wraps up for the weekend. I picked up the first book in the series while browsing at my local library, and was pleased to find such an interesting mystery. I like the "cozy feeling" with this series, and really enjoy the character of Tess. Unlike the first book, I was able to figure out the killer about halfway through the book. However, this was a light, quick read, and was a great book to read at the beach. This is a fun, interesting cozy series, and I look forward to visiting the Iris House again very soon! The first book in this series is "Blooming Murder". Enjoy!
