Dr. Stedman is a first class theologian who explains the Book of Jeremiah thoroughly, in historical terms as well as in prophecy which applies now and in the future. If you care about the USA, examine yourself, your church, and pray for our nation.

The work of a first class theologian and teacher

Dr. Raymond Charles Stedman (1917-1992) was a well known American pastor, evangelist and theologian. He studied under the great J. Vernon McGee, and went on to be the pastor of Peninsula Bible Church in Palo Alto, California. During his lifetime he authored over 28 books, many of which are still in print. This book, which was originally published in 1976, is an in-depth study of the Book of Jeremiah. While not going verse by verse, the book does follow the flow of Jeremiah, following the prophet's 42 year ministry. It shows how God's judgment will ultimately descend on any nation that rejects Him and his calls to repentance - nations both ancient and modern. Overall, I found this to be a great book, and the work of a first class theologian and teacher. It gives the reader a great feel for what happened in Jeremiah, and provides lessons that are for everyone. I loved this book, and give it my highest recommendations. I think that all Christians should read this book.
