I loved this book. I like the character of Nathaniel King and his wife Winona. When they meet Red Hawk who is supposed to be an enemy of Winona's people, you see the Christian compassion of Nathaniel King from the beginning to the end. Red Hawk proves himself immediately to not only Nathaniel but to Winona's people the Shoshone Indians. Red Hawk himself was Ogalala Sioux. It goes to show that we have no accuse on how we treat our fellow man. Jesus Christ said so in the Bible, "Love your enemy and bless those who curse you, for if you only bless those who bless you where is the reward in that?" This was a great story and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series when I get them.
