A study of what happens when people dream of death in many different eras and cultures and what these dreams say to us about life. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I liked the scope of this book. Each chapter covered a different angle on death and dreams of death. This is all interspersed with dreams of Kramer's students from a college course. These are some of the most intriguing and fresh. This book does give up depth in it's attempts to cover so many angles--religious, philosophical, literary, psychological, shamanic... Also, Kramer basically accepts the notion of death in dreams as transformative and liberating. I, too, find it the most interesting approach, but what he presents in the book doesn't necessary lead to this conclusion.
