Rod Campbell's classic lift-the-flap book Dear Zoo has been a firm favorite with toddlers and parents alike ever since it was first published in 1982. Young readers love lifting the flaps to discover the animals the zoo has sent--a monkey, a lion, and even an elephant But will they ever find the perfect pet? With bright, bold artwork, a catchy refrain, and a whole host of favorite animals, Dear Zoo is a must for every child's bookshelf.
It is a must for your home library. My kids have loved it from one year and up. It got both kids into reading with the lift the flap.

Every single flap is broken. Not one page is intact. Very upset. Unusable. Some tears took words off too.

A favorite way to practice motor skills and practice animal sounds

My husband and I joke about the actual premise of this book - some poor zoo staffer having the job of sending some high maintenance kid pet options - but we nevertheless love the book because our daughter loves lifting the flaps on this one and practicing the animal sounds of each one.
So fun!

My toddler knows his animals pretty well, so he likes to "help read" this book by naming the animal when we lift each flap. It's a fun book to read together.
Overall good, but missing animals under the flaps.

Good book, but it's not fun when the flap pictures are missing
Totally damaged

This book should not have been placed in circulation. All of the pop ups were completely torn out of the book, did they not notice that? I would like to exchange for a better copy.
Fantastic book - fun for toddler and parent

I have been reading this book to my daughter since she was seven months old. She was already used to other lift-the-flap books and immediately took on to this one. What we both love: 1- She loves the flaps because they are just the right size for her hands. I like them because they are not too big like in her other books (the larger the flaps, the easier to rip!) 2- Simple, straightforward text with short lines on each page. 3- Great colors. 4- Repitition throughout and babies love consistency! This became her favorite very quickly and 5 months later, still is! A definite book to buy!
Great lift-the-flap book!

This book is not only interesting for my toddler daughter, it is very sturdy as well. The flaps are very well constructed and have withheld the test of time from when she was only 6 months old. This book was also a great book for her to learn the names of animals through anticipation. We both love this book!
A great book to bring to church!

My son loved this book from the start -- loves it so much, that I typically back it my "church pack" to keep him quietly entertained during church. My 7 year old neice and 4 year old nephew also love the book, they love to read it to him and make the animal sounds as they are revealed. A MUST HAVE book for your toddler!
A great first book

My daughter has loved this book from the very beginning. She was fascinated by the animals revealed when I lifted the flaps, and then had a great time learning how to lift the flaps herself as she grew older. She's a year old now and brings it to me to read to her more than any other book that we have. She gets a kick out of the animal sounds we make when we lift the flaps, too. It's the only lift-the-flap book we have that she hasn't managed to tear off any flaps. I think this book has been instrumental in showing her how much fun books can be - I highly recommend it.
Excellent interactive book for the very young

One of the best books we have come across to help our 10 month old become, and stay, interested in books. The interactve aspect of the book, with its enchanting simplicity and bright vibrant colours, make it perfect for early readers (watchers), and keeps them eagerly turning each page. It is also surprisingly robust.
