Dear Mom and Dad, What kids of Divorce really want to say...

This is one of the greatest tools to help your kids survive divorce. You can read the entire book in probably 20 minutes. When emotions are running wild and you're not thinking clearly, this book helps you see things through your childrens eyes. Helps you not say things or do things that you will regret later!Buy two copies, one for each parent and agree that you will follow the 10 commandments! Good luck.

This book was a communication vehicle for all of us.

I will be entering a family of 3, father and two daughters. He has custody, the girls have visitation with their mother. The children are 6 and 9, and there are still a lot of issues they have, emotional and mental stress if you will. Confusion also. This book was given to the oldest daughter and we asked her to write down the points that she could relate to. It was like looking through a window into her soul. A lot of these issues dealt with feelings that she couldn't put into words herself and she is starting to see that she has the right to be a healthy child. And it helps that she doesn't have to say anything to either parent and hurt their feelings. The issues are taken with her to her counselor and discussed, and she is on a good path again. It has been amazing.

A book that both divorced parents and children should read!

I am a child of divorced parents, and I have two younger siblings that live with our mom. Even though I am an adult, I find myself in awkward situations when I visit my parents. I have often explained to my parents how these awkward situations affect me, but I stress how this is affecting my younger siblings. This book has clarified my ideas about the environment that my siblings and I should not have to accept. After reading this book, I immediately bought two extra copies and sent them to my mom and dad. Hopefully, since Gillian Rothchild is not only a professional, but also a parent, my parents will get the hint!

My ex and I actually agree-This book is a kids' life saver.

This is the first book I have read that has helped my ex and I learn to focus on our kids. We never realized, until we read this book, how destructive our behavior can be on our children. This book is the perfect divorced parenting book and has opened our eyes to the effects of both of our behaviors. We are trying our best every day to read and reread this book and make sure we improve our parenting skills and help our children lead different, but happier lives. This book is a wonderful eye-opener.

Great book for divorced parents trying to do right thing

I found this book to be a terrific, down-to-basics resource on what the kids really need when stuck in the middle of divorce. At such a hard time, it's easy to focus on your own feelings and overlook what your child is going through. DEAR MOM AND DAD brings the child's needs to the forefront, which is so very important with more and more divorces these days.
