One of the best devotionals for girls

I love this book! It is really good. I have only done a few, but they are good. This is a great book for girls. One thing did not really apply to me, however. This book deals with a lot of things that happen when you go to public school and maybe a little private school. I am homeschooled, so this book did not fit me right in all ways, but not enough to make me change the number of stars.

An answer to prayer

My 11 year old daughter accepted Jesus as her savior at the age of 9. But, she never read the bible or devotions on a regular basis. About a week ago I prayed about this over several days, and, I saw the flyer in Our Daily Bread for Dear Diary. I ordered it, gave it to my daughter and she loves it!! It truly is an answer to my prayers!! I have read through it and it deals with current issues that preteens and teens face. It provides wisdom, guidance, and encouragement to them in a world that has all but squeezed God out of every aspect of our lives.thank you for an answer to my prayers!!Pam Black

Great Start for Preteen Girls Seeking Answers About God/Life

Each entry is written in a "Dear Diary" format, as if a preteen were actually writing in her diary each night. A real-life problem is presented on a page in the "diary," and then discussed, relating the problem to a girl's feelings about what was going on and what the Bible has to say about it. The discussion section provides spaces for writing in personal feelings, prayers, Bible verses, and answers to questions. My 11-yr-old daughter had been asking more about her relationship with God, and was also worrying about starting middle school and all the issues that go along with that. We got this book and she and I read at least one entry per night and talk about it together. She looks up the Bible verses and writes her own thoughts and feelings in the book. She really likes the book, and the opportunity it provides for us to spend time together talking about things that matter to her.
