It's the 1990's and internet pen-pals are all the rage Sergei's a Georgian national who's also half Russian and finds himself torn between two worlds and unable to adapt... ever really. So he bridges the distance between his hometown in Georgia and his beloved mother Russia. He is awkward in every sense of the word, and will do anything for his beautiful pet, Etienne. One never finds out what exactly Etienne is; all we know is, he/she is green and mean. Sergei's an incredibly sheltered Eastern European boy... young man I mean, who is coming of age a little late in life. Not too late, but a little. Sometimes there is an odd sense of maturity in him, and that's only because it adds to the mystery and incredible contradiction that is Sergei Popov.
