The single mother hasn't been found. And all her daughter, Sarah, has is her uncle. Clueless at parenting, Clint Herald seeks a loving, responsible nanny. What he finds instead is a stranger as mysterious as his sister's disappearance. Mandy Erick is secretive and seems scared, yet she's so good with Sarah that Clint can't help but trust her. In fact, he even enters Mandy in the town's Mother of the Year contest. But attention is the last thing Mandy wants. Her time in the public eye may prove just as dangerous as she fears.

I have just finished Rozanne Rustand novel Deadly Competition and I really enjoyed it. I plan on finding the other books in "Without a Trace" series and read them too. I enjoyed her characters that were very believable, even those moments when they offered a quick pray for strength and guidance. I also ask for strength and guidance when I feel overwhelmed. The small town setting, people stopping to visit after church Loomis, LA seemed just like home. The Mother of the Year Contest was interesting, and the "warring old biddies" I want to know if there is more of their story in the other novels of this series. If you are looking for a good story with interesting twist and turns I recommend Deadly Competition. .
Definitely worth reading!

Deadly Competition by Roxanne Rustand is a wonderful read. A true inspirational romance. The plot moves swiftly, the characters are true to form. When Clint needs a nanny, Mandy answers the ad. The suspense is built when we learn that Mandy's past is about to catch up with her, Clint's sister disappears and the child Sara has seen something she cannot reveal. Set in the bayou, Ms. Rustand's descriptions are wonderful. Her unique brand of humor shines! It's a quick read as it's impossible to put down until you get to the end. Loved the "Mother of the Year" contest. The two old warring biddies were great. The cliffhanger ending makes you rush to read the next book. If you haven't read the "Without A Trace" series, you'll find them enjoyable reads. Ms. Rustand is a very talented author. You definitely can't go wrong with any of her great books. Grab some popcorn and settle in for a fun read.

Deadly Competition by Roxanne Rustand is a complying suspense grounded in a deep Christian foundation. Clint and Mandy are strong likeable characters fighting their own battles. Their one common concern is the child Sara, who has seen something she cannot reveal. As the story comes together the three of them form an attachment that makes them a "unique" family. The description of bayou country and foods was enjoyable. I rather liked to two old bitties fighting. It made me laugh. I could not put the book down. Kept me interested and thrilled. Quick read that made me want to read the preceding episodes and get to the next installment. Judy Mouzakis
