Was the accident really murder?

Private detective Vic Newman and his boss Sabina Swift realize that it's more than a coincidence that two middle-aged women have been killed by freight trains at train crossings shortly after they were married. Vic pursues the killer from Maryland to Long Island and back. Very satisfying detective story, although there are a few loose ends left (what happened at the Washington Zoo and what becomes of Vic's neighbor Mr. Geissdorf). I wish there were more than two books in this series.
