Why vampires do not want to live forever

It is an awkward feeling that when chosing to become (or bitten to become) a vampire, the average man (or woman) reflexes on the unconditional feeling that living forever is some kind of a curse. The movie is well supported by the cast and has great special effects for its time. Still why does the matter of not dying is capital to a group of changed humans. Do not get me wrong, it is an enjoyable picture to watch, although, it raises the wrong question to the public in my view. Be vampire and let be.
