Day of the Drones

You see them everywhere. Kids play with them, claims adjusters deploy them, airports are plagued by them. Now a fleet of fifty, X-shaped drones floats over a town square in the early morning, silent and ominous.

High school teacher Richard Wright receives a text message on his cell phone to come to the police station downtown. But the message is not from the police.

We are the drones.

Richard has been chosen as the conduit for what will be a day of dark revelations about some of the town's more well-known residents. The revelations are followed by violence of a type that Police Chief Amy Chan has not seen in her small town tenure.

Lacking any local experts, Richard and Amy enlist the help of a brilliant high school student, Sonya Fuentes, to study the drones and determine what they are up against and who is behind the strange visitation. Were the drones sent by God to punish the wicked, as one citizen suggests?

As the drones continue to expose the town's "sinners", Amy calls for help from the FBI and a SWAT team, and the body count starts to rise. And when Richard gets a frantic phone call from his wife, he soon finds out why he was chosen by the drones -- for they consider him to be the biggest sinner of them all.
