Immediately Useful

I discovered this book while I was completing a clickstream(web site) data mining solution at eToys. It was the first book I hadfound that provided information in a form I could use right away tohelp implement a solution. It contains a great survey of data miningtools -- the most comprehensive I have seen. It also contains specifictechnical facts that I found instantly relevant while helping todesign a clickstream datawarehouse at Morgan Stanley Dean WitterOnline. When my clients ask me to recommend a book on website datamining, this is the one I recommend. I am buying more copies, for myemployees, and because it is hard to get the book back when I lend itto clients :-)...

Current and timely

I searched high and low for a book that blends the I/T and Business/Marketing disciplines to aid my understanding of the "behind the scenes" operation of e-commerce web sites. (No small feat!) I found plenty of books catering to each topic independently, but nothing that blended both. This book delivers on that niche, covering I/T tools and platforms, marketing theory and practice and even some stats. A unique and interesting blend, not "too technical" but heavy enough to interest the programmer types....definitely worth it! This book should climb the charts, once it's been out awhile!
