John Marsden be my friend

Although not as action-packed and satisfying as the previous books in the series, Darkness Be My Friend stands out as one of the best. It would be a mistake to say the book is slow, however-there are still several suspensful scenes of action. This book may let readers down by lacking a huge, explosive victory from our protagonists, but this serves to make the series even more realistic. Darkness Be My Friend also contains what is surely the saddest scene in the entire series. This is a must-read, of course, for anyone who enjoyed the previous books.

Beyond incredible . . . these books are too powerful!

These books are incredible. There are not words to describe exactly how incredible. When you read these books, you get so swept up in them, so caught up in the realness of the emotion and the experiance and the characters, that you can't break loose - you are so completely caught up that you must, must must without a doubt read on till the end, unstopping. And then you've got to run to the bookstore and get the next one or go mad trying. These books affect you emotionally - they are powerful beyond logic. For example. When I finished the third book, I sat, clutching the book so hard my fingers turned white, for almost half an hour. Then I started to cry. I was in shock the entire weekend. This is one of the rare series that affects you mind and soul. Read it, if you want a powerful read, and incredible read beyond words. You will never, ever forget it.

Couldn't put it down!

I love this book, and the whole series. I had read the other three pretty quickly, however, for some strange reason, I was hesitant to read this one. Took me a few months to pick it up. I start this book about 5 days ago, and finished it last night at 1:30 am! I read 130 pages that night! I just couldn't stop! It was so great and I can't wait to read the last three. John Marsden is such a genius in his writing. Though this book didn't have as much action as the previous ones, it was still very fulfilling and worth my time. I bet the next three will be the best!

Simply Breathtaking!

Don't you get tired of when there is just NOTHING to read?-well here is the ultimate answer: From when you start this book untill you finish it, you will never get tired... of course it would be better to read all the other books of the series before reading this one-but you know, if you MUST(you must!) I was eleven when i first read this book and i still enjoy it till this day forth. YOU MUST GET THIS BOOK!

Not as thrilling as the rest but great all the same!

This is the fourth of seven books in the famous Tomorrow series, i am from Australia where the whole series is out, this book lacks action but was needed it is what life's all about, you can't win all the time and this book shows that john marsden can acknowledge this and not make the series into a hollywood movie style fairytale where everything ends up good and everyone does everything right, life's not as good as all that. The next three: Burning for revenge, The night is for hunting and The Other Side of Dawn are heaps better, and i have read them, you'll have to wait a while to read them in the USA and other countries but it's worth the wait!
