Dare to be Rare

This is an excellent book for teen girls to read, but it is even better to use in a group setting. We just did an all girls retreat and chose 3 of the chapters to use as "talks" and discussion jump off points. Scripture is appropriately chosen for the subjects and even gives journeling subjects. I recommend this to youth ministers and teen girls. Mom's too. Teresa

Accessible Advice for Girls

The author describes this book as having a "shish kabob" format -- small chunks, easily digested. That is exactly right. The topics are highly relevant to real life and presented in a fresh, accessible way. The tone is slightly evangelical (which I am not), but the content was so good that I didn't care. This book will remind girls about what really matters, while enhancing their self-esteem and driving out thoughts of perfectionism and judgment. It's a good read for adults as well. It would be an excellent choice for a mother-daughter book club.
