Hi, I thought I would share my thoughts on d6. It's a fast and fun rpg, when you get ready for a break from d20 crunch, try this on for size. It's very easy to learn, like a few min and I had it totally understood. It plays fast also, no worries there. To me it seems like gurps a bit, but with less rules and faster play. Well to me at least. Anyway I highly recommend you give it a go if you can find it cheap out there.
Nice Game. Too bad it's out of print.

The D6 role playing system is a great game designed for fast paced role playing that requires a minimum of flipping through the rules during play. D6 Fantasy continues this pattern and applies it to the Fantasy genre. This book is a tool kit for how to use the D6 system for *Your* fantasy setting (based on something from your own imagination or your favorite books and movies) it is not a book with rules and setting all together. Because of this the book has just a few magic spells and fantasy races rather than the large amounts you might expect, instead space is dedicated to telling you how to make your own and have them play balanced within the rules. This means the GM using these rules has to do a bit more work before the game starts creating races, spells and such, so if you want a game that you can just jump into as soon as your done reading the rules this is not for you. On the other hand if you're willing to put in the work it's a great game. In truth I can only think of two complaints about the game. First the magic rules don't allow for truly permanent enchantment spells. Sure you can cast a spell on a sword to make it better but it will wear off after a while, this makes it hard to have an adventure revolving around a 2000 year old enchanted magical Muffin. Second the book is out of print, so whatever sourcebooks there are there won't be any more.
