A great post and swordsman

I love Cyrano. He's a great post, swordsman, and has an ingenious way with words. Only issue with this DVD version is that it's so old that the background speaker sound sometimes obscures the characters' words.

Spectacular Performance!

Jose Ferrer gives a performance like no other as Cyrano. He is the ubiquitous male; brave, a swashbuckling sword wielding soldier always spouting poetry & rhyme(even while dueling!) that is poignant and often mocking the powers that be. It is a story of unrequited love, and of war, and the commradery of men and their loyalty in friendship. The sword fights are awesome as a reknowned swordsman is Ferrer'7s double. The movie was made in black & white & I've yet to find it digitally remastered which is a mystery since it is one of the best movies ever made and won Academy Awards. But even with not so great quality viewing, it is so good that it doesn't matter. It is a wonderfully written screen play, Mala Powers is perfectly cast as the beautiful Roxanne. If u have never seen this, you should.
