Beginning from Adam and Eve, in His loving kindness God sought to save His fallen creatures (Genesis 3,4). After expelling our forefathers from the Garden of Eden, He sought that lost fellowship with them and continued to communicate with His offspring, especially after they had fallen into sin. God did not give up, but kept on presenting an opportunity for them to repent. He set a law of return (in Hebrew t'shuva) for every fallen human being. Once a person agrees with God and returns to Him on His terms, the relation?ship is then restored. God visited Adam and Eve over and over again. However, we do not find any account of their repentance in the scriptures. It seems that they kept choosing death rather than life. They chose the devil's pleasures and dreams of wisdom and greatness rather than obeying the simple laws of their Creator.
