C.S. Lewis is the author of many books of many different kinds, from fantasy to science fiction to more literary and religious works. After struggling with religious doubt for much of his early life, Lewis converted to Christianity in the 1930s. This new-found faith would strongly influence nearly all of his later writings, including The Chronicles of Narnia, which he began writing in the 1950s. In December of 2005, Walt Disney Pictures plans to release its big-budget adaptation of this series, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.
