A Cry of Angry Thunder by G. Clifton Wisler is a great book with lots of suspense, action and a great realistic feel. When Johnny is forced to move to the California when his father is killed in the Civil War, he discovers that the world is run a lot differently than his former home in the east...This was a very good book that I would recommend to anyone who wants a fast-paced suspenseful read. This book was also very realistic which is why I give it 4 out of 5 stars. The only thing that could have improved this book is making the ending a little less confusing. This book was very good!
The End of the Sioux

Have you ever wondered how the major Indian tribes lived and died? If you don't mind extremely sad endings, you might like this book. It has action, a very good story that doesn't let you put the book down, and, what every war book has, plenty of blood and gore in some parts. This book is mainly about Johnny, a white boy who moved to the West after his father died, and Antelope Foot, a young Sioux Indian. There are other main characters, like Trader Jim, Johnny's grandfather, who teaches Johnny in the ways of the West. Johnny and Antelope Foot become good friends, but the white soldiers come in and start a war. The boys are slowly torn apart, and every time they see each other, they fear it might be their last time. Read the book to find out more. On a scale from one to ten, I would give this book a seven. The beginning and the middle where definitely tens, but the ending was too sad for me. I couldn't put the book down, though. It was definitely worth reading, because I found out tons of facts about how the Sioux Indians lived and ended.
