Best Guide book for the Area

Coupled with his web site, I love his descriptions and reading about history and other sight seeing things along with in depth info on marinas, anchors and services. Most of us boaters prefer tabular-type info as we travel (such as Waterway Guides, Skipper Bob) which I also carry and would not be without), but if you want more detail, this is the book. His web site couples well with Skipper Bob on costs, but I wish all guides would improve on marian hidden costs such as charging for overall length versus waterline length, or charging by the slip size versus boat size. Also, sales taxes/add on fees that some do. But these aer rare and I digress.

Enthusiastically recommended for area boaters, whether residents or vacationers.

Now in a revised sixth edition, Cruising Guide to Costal South Carolina and Georgia is an in-depth guide to every last marina, anchorage, creek, nook, and cranny along the South Carolina and Georgia coastline. Author Clairborne Young has applied his years of experience boating in sailcraft and powerboats and personally visited every body of water referenced in this local's-eye-view guide. Maps and black-and-white photographs add a visual touch to the richly detailed descriptions sure to appeal to armchair travelers as well as boat travelers. Cruising Guide to Coastal South Carolina and Georgia is a travel guide, not a how-to guide; the reader's familiarity with principles of nautical operation and safety is presumed, and the main focus is upon the marvelous sights, sounds, and history of the South Carolina and Georgia coast. Enthusiastically recommended for area boaters, whether residents or vacationers.
