Shared experiences from those who have gone before...

Cross-Culture Reentry is a great collection of studies, personal accounts and reasearch about the effects of returning to your host culture from living in a foreign culture. After having lived and worked in Germany myself for an American company and then returning to America the only thing I can say is I wish I had read Clyde Austin's book before I went. Even though my company does business in 25 countries around the world we don't do anything to prepare our associates for the rigors of living in a foriegn country or the harder task of returning to a host country. Cross-Culture Reentry has numerous creative recommendations for individuals and companies to plan for, maintain and re-culturize employees as they transition through the maze of crossing cultures. I have taken on a personal mission in our company to implement many of the fundamentals this fine book has to offer. More than anything in this book I appreciated reading the cross-culture stories of various individuals and their families...they let me know I am not alone in my re-culturization process.
