A brilliant, canonical text on gays and lesbians of color

This book is one of the first anthologies about gays and lesbians of color. If you can find a copy, do buy it. I found myself citing this book all the time for college papers. This book includes great articles about figures such as Audre Lorde and Arturo Islas. It has wonderful essays from up and coming academics such as Sharon Hom and Martin Manasalan IV. Even a decade after its release, this book will seem fresh and relevant. This anthology also does a great job of focusing on Latinos, Asians, and Blacks equally rather than tokenizing any group.
