Judy is an excellent instructor. She makes crewel seem easy. I took my first course from her. I left that class so proud of the accomplisments that I had made. I was able to retain her teachings and go on from there. This book is the BEST on the market. Don't hesitate to purchase it. There are many hours of happy stitching inside. Excellent addition to the long history of Crewel

Judy has added her own style and creativity to the ongoing tradition of crewelwork. She has used the various stitches in ways that are new and really guides the embroiderer to create beautiful crewel pieces. She hasn't just reworked the traditional stitches, but shows how to combine them in unique ways with modern colors and materials. She has "raised the bar" in the art of crewelwork. An excellent book for beginner and advanced crewelworker alike.

I have been watching my mother experiment with different embroidery techniques, fabrics, and stiches as long as I can remember. It is wonderful seeing the years of her work summed up in this great book. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Crewel Embroidery!

I am the author's daughter and growing up, my most vivid memories of my mother is of she and her embroidering friends, sitting in our living room, chatting away about fabrics, stitches and the art of crewel embroidery. I, myself, have only begun the journey of discovery and self-expression throught the art of stitching. My mother's book is an excellent introduction to any newcomers or veteran stitchers.
