Good Debut Novel Cindi

Cindi Louis has proven herself to be a good storyteller. Her novel Crazy Thing Called Love was a great start to her published writing career. The issues surrounding Judy Jayda Tillman are realistic. There are alot of women that blame themselves for failed relationships. There are alot of instances that the real issue in those relationships are on the part of the other person.I was glad to see Attorney Jason McNeal teach Jayda not to be afraid of loving someone. Their relationship developed naturally I think. Jayda was really afraid to let her guard down. Because of the things her ex-husband said and the way he treated her, she didn't even think she could satisfy a man. She thought she was a disappointment in that area.I think Cindi did a good job with the characters. The language and interaction of the characters made them seem like you know them or someone like them. She is well on her way to a successful writing career.
A Romantic Comedy

Laughter is the theme for this romance novel. The characters in this book are fun and funny.Meet Judge Jayda Tillman. She is fresh from a nasty divorce. She does not have the desire to meet up with any man and the ones she does.... watch out. Atleast, that is what she thought until Jason McNeil comes into her life. The first night in her new apartment she is awakened by heavy thumping over her head. She goes upstairs to find out what the problem is and meets her new neighbor Jason. A fine, muscular specimen of a man. The laughs start immediately. The attraction is instanteous, but Jayda has been told she is frigid and tries to flee from a relationship. Jason is not having it. He awakens passions in her that she does not know existed. As in most romance there is a touch of mystery and intrigue. Finding out who is behind the threats to "Hanging" Judge Tillman, hence a twist and turn in the plot.A fun romantic read. I look forward to more books by this author.
Totally enjoyable.

Judge Jayda Tillman has a reputation for being an ice queen, thanks to the rumors spread by her ex-husband. But his upstairs neighbor, Jason McNeal, a man who could give Denzel a run for his money, makes her blood run hot! Jayda has dealt with Jason in the courtroom--he is a good lawyer. But she is afraid to let down her guard. He might be just a player, and her ex gaveher such a belief in her own frigidity that even a gorgeous man like Jason can't shake it. Still, they do get involved. First, she propositions him--just sex, no relationship. Then she tries to back out. Then a little liquor loosens Jayda's inhibitions. He won't take advantage of her inebriated state, but does sleep with her--and shows her passion the next morning, when she's cold sober.... In the work place, Jayda's latest trial is that of a man suspected of murder--and of connections with the Jamaican Mafia. The trial is most inflammatory, and from the start she's receiving threats. These threats soon turn deadly dangerous.... From the start this book is absorbing and entertaining. Jason, a man working hard to look after his mother and four younger sisters, is engaging and admirable. The reader will cheer as Jayda gets past her old demons. And the ending is completely unexpected. An enjoyable way to spend an evening.
A captivating ethnic romance

Rumor among the lawyers is that Hanging Judge Jayda Tillman hates all males after her ugly divorce from her sleazy husband Adam Peterson. When Jayda moves into the apartment below him, attorney Jason McNeal claims to his sister that the new occupant will not cramp his style even when she complains about the noise emanating from his abode. Not long afterward, they argue in court over her sentencing of his client leading to her fining him for contempt. As Jayda and Jason become acquainted in court and in their apartment building, they begin to fall in love. However, she still hurts from her first marriage and though he is drop dead gorgeous Jayda rejects her heart's demand for a strong relationship. Though she sets his soul spinning for more, Jason rejects anything permanent because he already has relationships with females, four younger sisters to raise. Cindi Louis captivates fans of ethnic romances with a touch of the paranormal, intriguing court scenes, and a bit of suspense to sweeten a delectable love story. The story line is fun because of the in and out of court relationship between the "Ebony Man" centerfold and Her "Honoress". This CRAZY THING CALLED LOVE will leave readers impatiently waiting for Jayda's friend Melissa Beacon's story.Harriet Klausner
