Childhood of Famous Americans One of the most popular series ever published for young Americans, these classics have been praised alike by parents, teachers, and librarians. With these lively, inspiring, fictionalized biographies -- easily read by children of eight and up -- today's youngster is swept right into history.
This is great because it provides insight into what was important to the Sioux and how they raised their children. It also provides a good background for the man who became Crazy Horse. I think students can easily read these biographies and get a good feeling for how people grow up and what forms their lives.
engaging and informational

This book gives insight into the happenings of Native Americans as the settlers moved in, specifically into the plains. Both my children, ages 3 and 5 have enjoyed learning about the native american customs as well as anticipating what will happen next in the story. Great read.
