Great Test Prep

I took the AP Literature exam last May using this book as my main resource. My school does not offer a class for this test, so I was pretty much on my own. This book was an enormously helpful resource that gave me all the information I needed in a concise and amusing manner. I received a 5 on my exam, so obviously the advice was helpful. Buying an older edition helped to save money and I have found Princeton Review to be a consistently solid help in preparing for exams. Highly recommended!

Great Review!!

I had four US Government Review books and this was definitely the most useful to me. (I had the 99-00 edition, but took the exam in 2001). I ended up scoring a 5!

Short, clear, incredibly helpful !

I loved this book. I bought this and Barron's review for my test. Barron's is so long and tedious, I never even opened it. However, Princeton's is very short and still teaches you everything you neeed to know. I got a five - and I did not know anything about Literature before I opened it! Now, let me say this: there's 2 types of people. If you are buying this book at the beginning of the year, you have a lot of time and discipline and you're actually interested in learning A LOT of literature theory, then get Barron's.It will teach you much more than you need to know, and it is more elaborate than any textbook I've ever seen. But if you're like me: stressed, last minute crammer looking for a good score, then definetely get the Princeton Review. It really does have everything you need to know in it - the Glossary is great and the essay tips are very helpful. I used real, old APs to practice and only got 4 or 5 Q's wrong on the multiple choice thanks to this book...

Concise, clear, and all-around great!

Princeton Review is the best in test prep books. The book is clear, funny at times, and keeps your attention long enough to teach you all you need to know to ace the AP test.

Incredible Results

I was not blessed with the best in-class AP English preparation my senior year. We read a lot of novels, stories, and poems in one semester, without fully understanding the complexity of any of them. When May arrived, I was terrified of how poor education was going to ruin my performance. However, I began to read the Princeton Review guide, and slowly but surely, I began to learn ways to avoid the monotony that persistently pervades student essays about literature. I learned how to write lively, insightful, color-filled essays that were coherent. These are the type of essays that AP readers want. This is obviously true, because I received a 5 on my AP English Lit Exam against all odds. This book is both concise and witty, keeping you interested all the way through. Strategies for overcoming the pitfalls of the multiple-choice section are also provided. This one is a must-see-to-believe type of guide. Princeton Review, thanks!
