I just took the AP Chemistry exam this year. Although our teacher taught us the fundamentals of the test, a good review book was still needed. I bought this book about halfway through the school year, and started reading it about a month before the AP exam, doing all the practice questions and going through the answer explanations. After I have reviewed all the concepts, I took both practice exams. On the day of the test, I still kept it in my backpack for some last minute studying at school. My emphasis is on the great summaries (including equation overviews, shortcuts, etc.) and detailed explanations of each question. I thank Princeton Review for helping me get my 5.
It helped me.

During the school year, I did not believe that I could manage a 5 on the AP Chemistry test. I did use this book as a study aide, reading the reviews and doing the practice problems. I still didn't feel I was ready. But apparently this book must have helped -- I did manage to earn a 5 on this test.
Princeton Review Chemistry AP

This book is absolutely incredible for preparing you for the AP. I had to cram for the AP the weekend before and this book was a tremendous help. I read the other review and it said that the multiple choice in the Princeton Review was harder than on the AP, but I beg to differ. I thought that the Princeton Review practice tests were easier than the real thing, but the information in the book was very good to study. All Princeton Review books are great and they are the best to choose from. They are especially good with the SAT's and are not as boring as most others. They are written in a more casual language rather than the tedious and boring style of something like Barron's. Overall, I highly recommend this book and I suggest that past tests are purchased from the college board to prepare for the AP if you want to get a guaranteed 5.
Excellent book!

This is an awesome book I took AP Chem last year but didn't take the test and am planning to this year. Considering I haven't had any Chemistry for over a year, I thought I'd be in trouble, but this book is the best review I've ever seen. It almost teaches the whole subject of Chemistry, in an easy, straight to the point manner. If you're taking the AP Chem Exam this book is a MUST.
This is THE book to buy!!!!!

If you are planning on taking the AP chemistry exam anywhere from a week to a few months from now, I strongly recommend that you purchase this book. Though I have in the past mainly bought Barrons's books for test preparation, I must say that the Princeton Review has outdown them in the AP test prep. department. I found this book to be very good at being concise and to the point, while providing those students who need extra help with extra problems with complete explanations. I also discovered this book to be very good at keeping the discussion on all topics somewhat interesting. Personally I think that this book is the quintessential guide to doing well on the AP chemistry test, especially since I scored a 5 on the test this last year!
