Where's the movie?

What a story - I've lived in Texas most of my life and very close to some of the ranches mentioned in this book. I was at a university in East Texas at the time of these events and remember the headlines, but never had the whole story. It is pretty amazing. The text may not be up to a true writers standards, but that's probably because it was written not by a writer but an actual participant in the story as it unfolded. I think this story would make an outstanding film. All the elements are there. By the way, you can read this thing in a couple of hours...it's hard to put down.

Fascinating Story

Fascinating true story.Thought provoking illustrations of the RICO act and the far reaching implications.Much more than just marijuana smuggling. The fact that these cowboys had no aspirations of material things-not only because they knew the accumulation of expensive things would get them busted, but the sense of charity and generosity. These cowboys weren't morally empty.I recommend this book for many reasons. The light sentences were most likely the result of the charitable giving-millions given away to the struggling working class-of their choice. These cowboys enjoyed giving and that they did. This book does have a moral to the story.

Awesome true story,a must read.

Awesome story that depicts clearly how these cowboys smuggledso much grass. The best non-fiction book i have read. These cowboys had to be very courageous to go 18-days at sea on the shrimp boats.

Oh those jealous sour grapes.

Those guys that gave negative reviews must be with the bewilderedDEA or must have been jealous of Rex Cauble or perhaps they wereonce upon a time fired for underperformance by Cauble.Great storyand certain to be a blockbuster.Must read book.

''Real Cowboys''

This is a remarkable story. This will never happen again.Shrimpboats to Columbia from the Texas Gulf Coast?Never again.Once in a lifetime story.Todays technology would not allow thesecowboys to go unnoticed.Just in the last ten years the technologywould have caught these horsetrainers.Great one.I look forwardto the movie.Unlike the Perfect storm.these cowboys made it back unscathed to tell the story. They sailed 7,500 miles roundtrip on leaky shrimpboats and didn't drown.750,000 POUNDS smuggled, these guys are folklore heroes.Never again.
