From nuggets of sage advice--"Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear, or a fool from any direction"--to campfire fare, Morris presents the truth about America's most enduring and intriguing "life-style". Features lists of the best rodeos, dude ranches, trail rides, and festivals. 67 photos. 51 line drawings.
Fascinating book about the cowboy life- yesterday's and today's. The author is a fine wordsmith and the illustrations are marvelous. The author is clearly in love with the "Western Spirit," and you even if you have never been west of the Mississippi, you will probably be infected with her enthusiasm.

I bought this when we first moved to the West, so I would sound like a local! It's a great reference book, and explains the differences between vaqueros, cowboys, cowpunchers, and buckaroos. A fun read.

Cute book for the novice cowboy and cowgirl--entertaining reading for the "real thing". Well written and technically correct--great pictures and illustrations. Obviously written by one who knows the cowboy way. Highly recommended!
