Mrs. Smithers is on the case......

Corporal Smithers mother and her husband appeared on the scene shortly after the corporal was found dead. Shot dead. Suicide, said the army, which had begun its investigation. Murder, said Mrs. Smithers. She set out to prove it, even though she was only a woman who normally swept floors and served tea. The army didn't want her help, of course, but she gave them no say in the matter. "Well, she's harmless," Inspector Snode said. Not entirely, actually.
