A Different Way of Thinking & Perceiving The Universe

I must admit that I've attempted to read other books pertaining to "Sethian" ideas over the years, and have found myself bogged down within them, not quite able to grasp this different way of thinking and perceiving regarding ourselves & our universe... However, I found this book, by Susan Watkins, to be more down-to-earth, and therefore a bit easier to understand/decipher. "Conversations With Seth" is a compilation of what went on during some of Jane Robert's classes during the 1970's. It includes specific dialogue between Seth and the various class attendee's, as well as such "topics"/"entities" as The Sumari & Seth II. It explores the nature of our thoughts & our reality - including our beliefs about violence, sex, men vs. women, alternate realities, and much, much more. If you are at all interested in Jane Robert's various "Seth" books, and/or are intrigued by the idea of alternate realities, and how our thoughts create the reality we are currently in, then I would higly recommend this book - it's a fascinating, thought-provoking read (to say the least).

Seth in a more casual setting

Seth might appear to some readers to be a bit too intellectual for a formal setting, as I once thought. However, Seth can quite hold his own with some very diverse people, and opinions. This book is basically transcripts from Jane Roberts' ESP class, and the discussion held there.

An invaluable guide to Seth

I have read Sue's original volumes and had been hoping ever since that they may be reprinted. My wish has come true. Sue's contributions to understanding the Seth material and how it came about is invaluable because she puts matters in to a relevant, down-to-earth context. This facilitates the reader's approach to Seth's insights immensly. Mental fogs lift, intellectual mists disperse, and all of a sudden you can see the landscape; and the trees in the wood stand out clearer than before. I am thoroughly recommending this book along with Jane's material to everyone of my own readers.

the Workbook

(This review refers to Volumes I & II separately.) For those of us who read a lot of Seth, these books are a great relief. They present an emotional reality of the Seth material that most people will warm to more readily than the dictated books, such as "Nature of Personal Reality." The people in Jane's ESP classes worked with the material in the same way many of us do, though probably more methodically. Sue does an excellent job of welcoming the Seth reader into the class, providing a virtual support group of sorts, though I use that term very loosely! I can see individuals struggling with the concepts and their own personal implementations. Their stories are examples of how to interpret one's own in Sethian terms, aided by generous feedback from Seth. And my Self has been quite active in using the "Conversations" books to teach "me" about the synchronicity of time. Often with these books, I'll read a passage that directly relates to something I said or experienced the day before. For instance, once in searching around for the fish-ness of myself after eating a tremendous tuna steak, I had an alteration of consciousness where I was a solitary fish swimming in the ocean. The next day, I read in "Conversations" Seth saying, "I am a fish who swims through realities." This is just one such example.Oh, by the way, did I mention that I recommend this book very highly?

New edition of a great read

I first came across this book 20 years ago when it was in 2 volumes. Now with a photo insert and some updating to it, it's an even better introduction to the Seth material than it was way back then. I recommend this to everyone interested in the books of Jane Roberts. Sue Watkins knows how to write the way people talk, and the way people asked questions of the Seth ideas --and the way Seth answered them (not glib, like new-age type junk usually is) --makes for a story you can't put down.It shows Jane Roberts the person, too-- again not what you might expect.
