Just like being there!

This book follows the apocalyptic events of 1983 within the PC party. From detailed reporting of the Battle of Winnipeg, to the War to Settle the Score in Ottawa, this book has it all. Each contender's campaign is studied and the characters are well fleshed out. Be a fly on the wall in the room where Joe Clark decided that 67% was not enough. Find out how Brian Mulroney secured the leadership long before the convention. And lament over the demise of John Crosbie. I was tired after reading this book, as though I had just spent 4 days at the convention! Not many books in this genre are better.
