My teacher assigned this trash as an example of literary trash for senior year ap english. Overall, I thought the book was pretty good. The story was kind of gripping, and the author has a knack for using the rhetorical device. In other words, the book makes you think. It also plays skillfully with social ideals about beauty. It takes you to a time where old people were revered for their beauty above everyone else. Nowadays, everyone wants young, unwrinkled, supple, energetic etc. This book is pretty bad though. It was so awful in some places, that I felt the vomit coming up into my mouth. But there was something intruiging about a book causing me to vomit, so I continued to read despite the discomfort. On the other hand, the book's a really fun read. The author imbues the story with a lot of vitality. She's a superb storyteller. Just superb. I definitely would not recommend this book.
A very good book

I always enjoy reading books about women my age. I can relate to so many of the stories. Plus the books are in large print. Get this book and you won't regret it.
